Edeka Piston in Langensteinbach-Karlsbad has undergone extensive modernisation and now boasts a new design – and HAUSER was right in the middle of it. As a long-standing partner, we were able to support the conversion with our energy-efficient refrigeration cabinets and modern refrigeration technology.
As part of the renovation, all refrigeration cabinets and the refrigeration system were replaced with HAUSER products. Our Meranis and Mirengo deep-freeze cabinets and Remeta modules ensure optimal product presentation, more space and significantly higher energy efficiency. The new CO₂ refrigeration system not only improves the carbon footprint, but also enables waste heat to be used for heating and hot water production. The system is supplemented by a geothermal heat pump – another step towards sustainable market operations.
We are particularly proud of the new fresh food counter with Vithea service and self-service options. Meat, sausage, cheese, fish, vegan products and regional specialities are presented in an attractive and space-saving manner. The furniture features well-thought-out details such as pull-out systems, impact protection and LED lighting – and is particularly easy to clean and stock.
The conversion took place during ongoing operations – a real challenge that the Edeka Piston team mastered with flying colours together with our installation teams. Thanks to close coordination and flexible solutions, the store was able to continue operating without any major restrictions. Today, the location impresses with a modern shopping experience across more than 2,000 m², around 25,000 items, its own bakery, snack bar and delivery service.
