This commitment was also recognised by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, who personally attended the opening of the new site: “HAUSER demonstrates very clearly what makes a strong business location. A company headquartered in Linz, with more than 1,500 employees in 15 countries and 80 years of experience, continues to invest in growth, innovation and modern, energy-efficient refrigeration technology. This secures jobs and value creation in Upper Austria while also serving international markets. These are exactly the kinds of investments we need if we want to strengthen Austria’s economic position and move the country forward.”
The new site provides a total of 68 jobs across approximately 1,700 square metres for the specialist departments responsible for service, installation, sales and scheduling for Austria. International business will continue to be managed, among other locations, from the Urfahr site. The site also includes a new apprentice training workshop with a dedicated tool-testing area. At 140 square metres, the workshop places a particular focus on the training of young skilled workers. It features a modern training room equipped with cameras for hybrid training sessions, allowing apprentices from other sites to participate as well. In addition, practical training systems and control panels for refrigeration and electrical engineering provide ideal conditions for hands-on training. “This enables us to actively address the shortage of skilled workers and strengthen the image of the dual vocational training system,” says Rupert Danninger, Head of Training at HAUSER. Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer also welcomed the initiative:
“At HAUSER, vocational training is approached in a very comprehensive way. Seven different apprenticeship occupations, internal and external continuing education programmes, additional qualifications and targeted training demonstrate that the company is genuinely investing in young people. In 2024, HAUSER received the State Prize for ‘Best Training Companies’, and in 2025 I had the honour of recognising the company as a state-certified training provider,” the Federal Minister said.
Modern service area
A particular feature of the new site is its 360-square-metre drive-in service area. It allows installation and service vehicles to be loaded and unloaded while being protected from wet and cold conditions. Installation and service technicians can collect, return and dispose of materials around the clock. Facilities include a tool vending machine and a click-and-collect service with a collection point. The new site is complemented by a structured warehouse of around 300 square metres for tools and materials.
Innovation and growth
HAUSER’s Austrian sites in Linz-Urfahr, Dornach and St. Martin play a central role in the development and production of the company’s entire cooling equipment and refrigeration technology portfolio.“With our expertise and capacities in Austria, we are laying the foundations for further developing our portfolio for the international market. Our goal is to take advantage of additional growth opportunities in the European market and thereby secure the long-term future of the company,” says Loibl.
